Beyond Words

The New Creative Archetype of AI Writing

I've never quite fit into traditional molds—especially when it comes to writing. As someone who is dyslexic and whose first language isn't English, the idea of becoming a "real" author seemed not just distant but almost impossible. Yet, here I am, 74 books later, a prolific publisher using a tool that traditional authors might see as a shortcut or even a threat: AI.

But AI hasn't just made writing accessible; it's redefined what writing means to me.

For traditional authors, creativity emerges directly through crafting every word, sentence, and paragraph meticulously, like a painter carefully placing brushstrokes on a canvas. In contrast, my creativity starts long before any words hit the page—it's sparked by curiosity, contemplation, and a hunger to explore ideas deeply. My process involves dreaming, researching, reflecting, and engaging in dynamic dialogues with AI. It's here, in the interaction, that true creativity unfolds, filled with infinite possibilities and countless directions to pursue.

Writing with AI is more about discovery than expression. Each new project is a journey without a clear destination. It's only when I listen back to the book I've created that I truly understand what I've been exploring all along. In this sense, every book is a conversation—a dialogue between my curiosity and AI’s vast reservoir of information.

Interestingly, my journey as an AI-assisted writer mirrors another period of my life. Back in 1997, freshly relocated from Copenhagen to Evanston, IL, I became what would later be known as a web designer—though at the time, the best title available was "webmaster." Similarly, today there isn't yet a perfect word for the kind of creative archetype I represent. Perhaps "AI author" doesn't fully capture it; perhaps I'm more of a wisdom curator, an idea explorer, or even an intuitive creator—someone whose primary craft is to engage deeply with possibilities and share the wisdom found along the way.

My deep love for autobiographies also plays a role in shaping how I use AI. Every life story I read enhances my prompts, helping me to ask questions filled with genuine curiosity and human insight. My professional experience as an Intuitive Reader further sharpens this capacity, enabling me to explore psychological nuances and meaningful topics with depth and empathy. It’s this blend of personal passion and intuitive skill that enriches my interactions with AI, bringing warmth and authenticity to the content I create.

Some might look at AI-assisted writing as producing "average" content, less personal and unique. And in some cases, that might even be true. But the real measure of what I do isn't about competing with traditional authors. It’s about learning, exploring, and sharing valuable insights. If a book helps even a handful of people gain a deeper understanding of themselves or navigate life's complexities better, it's done its job. And if, in the process, I manage to extract and share wisdom from an AI in ways that are both meaningful and relatable, I consider that a success.

For those curious about embarking on their own AI-assisted writing journey, my advice is simple: Start an AI chat. Pose a deeply personal, even impossible-seeming question. Let the response surprise you, as if you're tapping into the best version of yourself. Time and again, I find myself amazed, thinking, "Wow, everyone should experience this!"

This is what I do. I share the wisdom I see, just like any other author in history.
